What is a Notary Public?
A Notary Public is appointed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Secretary of State to serve the public as an impartial witness in performing a variety of official fraud-deterrent acts related to the signing of important documents.
What do I need to know before my Notarization appointment?
For Notarization's you will need to have an ORIGINAL, current and valid ID. The identification must contain a photo, physical description, signature and serial number. Identification procedures are mandated by the Commonwealth of Virginia. The following forms of identification are acceptable:
Do not sign the document until you are in the presence of the Notary. Please completely fill in all blank spaces in the document before you meet with the Notary; but do not sign. We cannot notarize incomplete documents. A notary public is unable to provide legal advice, recommendations or assistance in the drafting or completion of documents.
Every signer must physically appear, be coherent and present acceptable ID at the time of Notarization.
We cannot notarize vital certificates (i.e. birth, marriage, death, divorce), photographs, faxed/copied signature or incomplete documents.

The Notary will act as an Authorized Representative for a prospective employer by reviewing the prospective employee’s identification documents. The employee must bring pages 1-3 to the appointment. Please fully complete Section 1 but do not sign until you are in the presence of the Notary. - Virginia Driver’s License or Identification Card
- Driver’s License or non-driver’s Identification issued by another US State or territory
- US Military ID Card
- US Passport
- Foreign Passport stamped by U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services
